Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Open Meetings Act (OMA) Certification Submission

These certifications are required by State of Illinois statutes to be completed annually. The certificates will be kept on file in the City Clerk Department.

As a requirement of the Open Meetings Act (OMA), designated employees, officers, or members must receive OMA compliance training. Each OMA designee must successfully complete the electronic training curriculum developed and administered by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) within  30 days after their designation, and again each year, as the training is updated annually. [5 ILCS 120/1.05(a)]

As a requirement of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), designated employees or officers, must receive FOIA compliance training. Each FOIA officer must successfully complete the electronic training curriculum developed and administered by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) within 30 days after their designation, and again each year, as the training is updated annually. [5 ILCS 140/]
