[Ch. 29, Sec. 260] Extended Term Permits for limited continuous operation are available for the movement of over legal weight pieces of construction equipment. These permits are valid for a period of three months or as otherwise indicated. The following items are pertinent: A. Extended Term Permits may be issued for the movement of overweight construction equipment or vehicles, provided: (1) The following weights are not exceeded: (a) Gross weight: 110,000. (b) Front tandem: 44,000; no axle exceeds 23,000. (c) Rear tandem: 54,000; no axle exceeds 20,000. (2) No single axle weight exceeds 23,000. (3) Movements are restricted to streets indicated in blue on the most recent version of the Bloomington/Normal Weight Limit Map published and available in link at beginning of application or from the City of Bloomington Engineering Department. Streets indicated in blue shall not be used in lieu of State routes to transport overweight loads throughout the City. (4) Moves on local streets are limited to 2,500 feet from the nearest street indicated in blue or from the nearest State route. [ Ord. No. 2007-45 ]
Any Axle Greater than 25,000 lbs MUST BE REVIEWED, please adjust if possible
